Indonesia faces major challenges in the development of critical thinking and computational skills among students this decade. In the midst of the development of technology and artificial intelligence (AI), computational thinking skills are very important to help young people face global challenges and solve problems in an efficient, effective, and optimal way. In this context, the strengthening of computational thinking techniques among high school/MA students is very relevant because this ability trains a sequential, creative and systematic way of thinking that can be applied in various areas of life. With computational thinking techniques, students not only focus on technical mastery but also understand how technology can be used to solve problems in their environment.
The Department of Informatics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University also carries out one of the mandate of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, namely the community service program. Service activities in the form of training computational thinking techniques in an effort to improve problem solving skills. The target group of this service activity is the 11th grade students in MA Darut Taqwa Semarang. The dedication activity was held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Sekolah MA Darut Taqwa Semarang. The principal, Mr. Yasin Fathur, S. Pd.,M.Si., welcomes very well this activity of devotion. The students participated by answering problem solving questions for everyday problems by applying computational thinking techniques. Students with the best answers get appreciation to increase the spirit of learning.
