JEPARA-the community service team from The Information Department of Diponegoro University organized a mentoring activity for the “Kartini Mandiri” UMKM group on April 20, 2026 at the Kalinyamatan District Office, Jepara Regency. This Program is part of the real contribution of universities in strengthening the capacity of MSME actors to face the challenges of increasingly rapid digital transformation.
The activity was opened with a speech from representatives of the Department of Information and continued by the Secretary of the Kalinyamatan Sub-District, Sri Purnami, S.IP., M.M., who expressed appreciation for the initiative of academics in supporting the development of MSMEs in the region. He emphasized that this kind of activity is in line with the Jepara Regency government’s program in improving the competitiveness of MSMEs based on innovation and technology.
In its implementation, the service team carries material on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for content and copywriting strategies oriented to increasing sales. The material is delivered in a structured manner, ranging from the introduction of AI in digital business, understanding the types of AI that are relevant for MSMEs, to developing a mindset of using AI as a work assistant that supports business actors ‘ productivity.
Participants are also equipped with technical skills through prompt engineering sessions, including the use of simple formulas to advanced frameworks such as IRCCRO. This approach is directed so that MSME actors are able to produce marketing content that is more targeted, persuasive, and consistent in building communication with the market.
Not only did it stop at delivering material, this activity was also equipped with a hands-on practice session accompanied by a service team with students. In this session, participants actively tried to compile prompts, create product descriptions, to design AI-based social media captions. Assistance is carried out intensively to ensure that each participant understands the application of the concepts that have been given and is able to adapt them according to their individual business needs.
The dedication team is led by Dr. Helmie Arif Wibawa, S.Si., M.Cs, dengan anggota Khadijah, S.Kom., M.Cs, Ragil Saputra, S.Si., M.Cs, dan Sandy Kurniawan, S.Kom. The involvement of students in this activity also strengthens the mentoring process in the field, as well as being part of the implementation of real experience-based learning.
Through this program, the Department of Informatics undip confirms its commitment in encouraging the appropriate use of technology in the MSME sector. An approach that is not only theoretical, but also practical and directed, is expected to have a real impact on improving the quality of digital marketing and the competitiveness of business actors in Jepara Regency.
