The community service team of the Department of Computer Science / Informatics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University (UNDIP) successfully held a training on the use of Google business profiles for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Kalinyamatan District, Jepara Regency. The activity took place in the Hall of the KALINYAMATAN district KB office and was attended by 20 MSME participants from various villages in the region.

This activity is part of a regular community service program chaired by Dinar Mutiara Kusumo Nugraheni, S.T., M.Info Tech (Comp), Ph.D. with a team consisting of Beta Noranita, S.Si., M.Kom., Nurdin Bahtiar, S.Si., M.T., Dr. Sense Of Urgency, S.T., M.TI., and Dhena Kamalia Fu’adi, S.Kom., M.Kom. This Program also involved five active students of the Undip Informatics Study Program as technical assistants in the field.

This Program comes as a real response to the challenges faced by MSMEs in the coastal region of Jepara in marketing their products in the digital era. The majority of MSMEs in Kalinyamatan have quality products but are not visible digitally because they do not appear on Google Maps, so the market opportunities that they should be able to achieve actually flow to other competitors. Through this program, the service team ensures that every MSME actor in the region has a real and verified digital presence. 20 MSMEs from various sectors participated

The training participants came from various villages in Kalinyamatan Sub-District, including Robayan, Margoyoso, Bakalan, Purwogondo, and Kriyan villages. The types of businesses represented are very diverse, ranging from the culinary sector such as Ramesan rice stalls, packaged rice, and chicken porridge; processed products such as snack chips and soy milk; service sectors such as vehicle repair shops; trade such as vegetable stores and groceries; to the agricultural sector such as mushroom cultivation..

The training took place interactively using the module” Complete Guide to Google Business Profile 2026 for MSME products ” specially prepared for micro-business actors. The material is delivered through three complementary methods, namely lectures, hands-on practice, and discussion.

In the practical session, each participant was personally accompanied by a team of lecturers and students to create and optimize their business profiles on Google Maps using their respective smartphones. The material presented includes seven steps to create a Google business profile, ranging from account registration, filling in complete business information, verification process through video, uploading quality photos, adding a list of specific services, managing customer reviews, to reading business analytics data.

Participants also gained an understanding of the integration of Google business profile with WhatsApp Business and Instagram as a digital ecosystem that supports each other to strengthen online marketing as a whole.
