History

In 1994, the Department of Mathematics at Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang, implemented a curriculum that emphasized practical applications in real-world contexts and responded to labor market demands. Consequently, the curriculum was restructured into four areas of specialization: Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science.

In 2004, pursuant to the approval of the Directorate General of Higher Education through Letter Number 1365/D/T/2004 dated 13 April 2004, Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang, was authorized to offer an undergraduate (regular) program in Computer Science, effective from the 2004/2005 academic year. In 2010, the Computer Science program was officially renamed Informatics Engineering in accordance with the Circular Letter issued by the Directorate General of Higher Education concerning the nomenclature of study programs.
